Compliance
In accordance with decree no. 517 of 29 December 1992, published in the Official Gazette no. 306 of 31 December 1992, non-automatic weighing instruments (instruments requiring the intervention of an operator during weighing) have been subject to new regulations since 1 January 1993.
We can distinguish them as follows:
-
Weighing instruments for non-regulated use
(no legal constraints, they are subject to an annual periodic inspection to ensure the accuracy of your instrument within the ISO recommendations for quality) -
Weighing Instruments for Regulated Use
We send those products already legalised with first verification in self-certification, and also have the green stamp with a validity of three years from the date of sale. The sticker also indicates the date, with month and year, of the next periodic inspection to be performed.
Instructions to the user: Within 30 days of the installation of the instrument it is necessary to inform the nearest Chamber of Commerce (Metric office) of the installation of the scales.
The type of weighing instrument to be purchased is solely determined by the intended use.
Regarding weighing instruments for regulated use we can define various fields of application:
- 4. 1a: Determination of mass for commercial transactions.
- 5. 1b: Determination of mass for the calculation of a toll, a tariff, a premium, a fine, a compensation, an indemnity or a similar fee.
- 6. 1c: Determination of mass for the enforcement of legislation, regulations or judicial assessments.
- 7. 1d: Determination of mass in medical practice with respect to the weight of patients for reasons of control, diagnosis, or medical treatment.
- 8. 1e: Determination of mass for the production of prescription drugs in pharmacies and determination of mass in analysis carried out in medical and pharmaceutical laboratories.
- 9. 1f: Mass-dependent pricing for direct sales to the public and pre-packaging.
Consequently, weighing instruments for Non-Regulated Use may be used in all other fields of application.
Periodic Verification
All weighing instruments used within the scope of these regulations are subject to an administrative control called "Periodic Verification".
You must ensure the accuracy of your instrument and have it checked by an accredited body, generally, this check takes place every three years. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us, specifying the geographical location and type of instrument (brand, range, accuracy, class).
